We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana! The Maintenance Planner is charged with supporting the execution of mechanical work by receiving, planning, estimating, scheduling, and recording required historical data. Coordinates work orders with maintenance support to manage backlogs efficiently. Ensures timely and coordinated availability of facilities and equipment to be worked on, parts, materials, and special tools/equipment for orderly and efficient work execution. Provides all documentation needed to perform work. The primary role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity by eliminating in advance potential delays and obstacles to efficient work execution, providing coordinated availability of resources, and ensuring thorough backlog management. Employee resource groups. What you will work on: Ensure that safety is the number one priority. Plan and schedule maintenance work on daily, weekly, and shutdowns as well as track performance and maintain accurate records. The principal liaison between mechanical craft department and areas served by craft personnel but not to the exclusion of others. Receive all mechanical requests except for emergencies, which are directed to the appropriate maintenance supervisors. Directs project or construction work orders to appropriate planner or engineer. Consults with engineering as needed. Plans all work orders received by analyzing them into basic job steps. Determines the sequence relative to each step including needed parts, materials, skills, special tools, and rental/onsite equipment, line conditions. Obtains drawings, sketches, specifications, and procedures, etc. as needed. Estimates all costs for work orders as required. Verifies the availability of parts, materials, and special tools required for its execution. Maintains backlog file of work orders waiting scheduling in accordance with their respective needs. In the selection of jobs for scheduling, meeting priority deadlines and maintaining schedules are essential. When jobs cannot be scheduled within their designated priority, notify the requester and adjust the priority. Chairs the weekly scheduling meeting with operations. Produces weekly schedule and issues to operations. Includes any pertinent information in work order packets and issues to maintenance supervisor. Planner and/or supervisor ensure that equipment to be worked on will be available for work. Reviews completed work schedules and corresponding work orders submitted. In managing the backlog, monitor size and make recommendations for control. Maintain contact with other planners to ensure coordination of field and shop work. Develop standard job plans for recurring work based on historical experience (previous actuals) to enhance the planning process. Assists Maintenance and Operations management in analyzing costs and recommends action to be more cost efficient. Maintains equipment history records through CMMS. Data includes closed work orders, PM check lists, drawings, failure analysis, modifications, purchase requisitions, correspondence, etc. Develops/modifies PMs as required based on equipment changes, needs, etc. Makes recommendations for planning and scheduling improvements. About you: High School Diploma or GED Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience with some technical education beyond high school.
