Maintenance Planner

Commonwealth Rolled Products is a leading manufacturer of Aluminum rolled products for the Automotive, Commercial, and Industrial markets. The Company operates its production facility in Lewisport, KY with the support of an Automotive Innovation Center for R&D, Sales and Field Service in Madison Heights (DET), and Inside Sales in the Cleveland, OH area.

Our production facility is seeking to add a talented Maintenance Planner in our Automotive Body Sheet (ABS) department. The purpose of this role is to plan and schedule maintenance work in the ABS department in the most cost-effective manner, minimizing equipment downtime and adhering to all Commonwealth policies and state, federal, and local governmental regulations. This position will also have relief maintenance supervisor responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities Include:

• Actively participate in maintaining a zero incident safety culture.
• Live and champion the Commonwealth Rolled Products core values; Safety, Integrity, Customer Focus, Ownership, Excellence, and Teamwork.
• Plan and schedule work in accordance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Working with the Maintenance Superintendent and area engineers to develop and maintain effective preventive maintenance (PM) programs for all equipment in area of accountability.
• Maintain and review equipment performance history to identify opportunities for improved reliability or cost improvement.
• Provide job planning and scheduling services for area of accountability, including, but not limited to:
  
  (a) Complete description of work to be performed,
  
  (b) Detailed bill of materials for job,
  
  (c) Work methods,
  
  (d) Special equipment needed,
  
  (e) Blueprints and/or other special information needed.
• Working with the area staff, help develop and distribute weekly maintenance schedules and coordinate work between production and maintenance.
• Maintain and update maintenance equipment records, including parts lists, storeroom set-ups, MPAC files, etc.
• Encourage active involvement of maintainers in planned, proactive maintenance activities.
• Process in-house repairable items in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Management of backlog
• Create and use standard jobs.
• Work as Relief supervisor as assigned by department maintenance superintendent.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED.
• Five (5) years of maintenance planning or related experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Proven ability in planning, organizing and time management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven technical competence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• Ability to rotate shifts in a 24/7 operation when working as a relief supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science or Associate degree preferred.
• Experience in the aluminum industry preferred.
• Experience with the CALP process strongly preferred.
• Has supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
