Overview
The Accounting Manager plays a central role in ensuring compliance with internal controls, guiding the daily and month-end close process, and mentoring Staff Accountants. This role works closely with all operational departments to support sound financial decision-making across the property.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily income audit functions, including balancing and reviewing PMS/POS postings, verifying ledger balances, and distributing daily audit reports and flash reports.
- Monitor sales and occupancy tax collections; document exemptions and ensure regulatory compliance. Prepare and submit sales tax returns.
- Review and reconcile all food & beverage comps, discounts, room rates, and PMS adjustments, including comp rooms.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to daily activity and assist in the month-end close process.
- Supervise and support the Staff Accountant, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial tasks.
- Provide financial guidance and training to accounting and hotel staff as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Perform special assignments and projects as directed by the Controller or Director of Finance.
Qualifications

- Hotel accounting experience preferred
- Understand financial and managerial accounting.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, PMS/POS systems, and accounting software
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Staff Accountants and Accounts Payable positions, including training and filling in for PTO.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Two-year degree in Accounting (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years Accounting/Business background, preferably in the hotel industry.

Compensation Range:
$65,000 - $75,000 annually based on qualifications
