- Conduct screenings and evaluations to identify speech sound disorders, language delays, voice problems, fluency issues (stuttering), and cognitive-communication challenges.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on strengthening muscles, improving vocal quality, and boosting speech production.
- Diagnose and treat swallowing disorders (dysphagia) by recommending dietary changes (e.g., thickened liquids, pureed foods).
- Teach the use of alternative communication devices or sign language for clients with limited speaking abilities.
- Maintain timely records of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
