Responsibilities:Set up welding equipment including necessary adjustments to weld different parts or subassemblies.Perform various welding operations following blueprint weld symbolsMove weldments manually, by overhead crane and secure workpiece in weld fixture or table.Set-up and prepare surfaces to be welded and work with blueprints to verify accuracy of pre-assembled metal components to be welded.Able to understand and use basic hand toolsRequirements:High school diploma or GED preferredMinimum 4 year of welding experienceKnowledge of basic procedures of MIG welding and cutting toolsBasic math skillsSkilled in the operation of grinders and deburring equipmentPerform standard measurements using a tape measure or other measurement devicesAble to weld assemblies with little supervisionAble to weld flat, vertical and downRead blueprints with weld symbols and specificationsLift and position fabricated metal parts manually, using a craneWear personal protective equipment, steel toed shoes, helmet, glovesWork overtime and/or including weekends as production schedules dictate
