Position Overview
We are looking for a Cost Accounting Manager to join our Accounting team, where you will partner closely with Manufacturing and Operations to support cost transparency, inventory accuracy, and profitable growth. As a Cost Accounting Manager, you will be a key financial partner to our manufacturing operations. Your work will directly support pricing decisions, operational improvements, and financial reporting by delivering accurate cost data, insightful analysis, and strong inventory controls. You will collaborate across functions and translate financial information into actionable insights that support both local operations and regional finance objectives.

As a Cost Accounting Manager, you will be a key financial partner to our manufacturing operations. Your work will directly support pricing decisions, operational improvements, and financial reporting by delivering accurate cost data, insightful analysis, and strong inventory controls. You will collaborate across functions and translate financial information into actionable insights that support both local operations and regional finance objectives.
What You Will Do
- Perform month ‑ end close activities, including settlement of production orders and variance analysis
- Collects accounting and financial data related to assets and liabilities gained and incurred by the various departments within the company
- Present financial data and cost-saving recommendations to senior leadership to aid in strategic decision-making
- Analyzes the costs of materials, processes, and labor to provide management with information to determine methods of reducing production costs
- Develop and maintain company cost procedures and policies
- Prepares product cost statements, investigating products to establish manufacturing costs
- Identify discrepancies between projected budgets and actual costs of materials, labor, and overhead through verification of variance analysis.
- Verify and approve data on labor and materials costs burden and expense items, inventory, and profit and loss adjustments
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust cost accounting systems and models
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliations, and adherence to control procedures
- Calculate and record inventory reserves in line with accounting policies Support local and regional finance and manufacturing projects
- Train, develop, and supervise cost accounting staff
- Supports internal and external audits
- Performs other duties and supports special projects as assigned
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- Five years of Accounting experience. Cost Accounting experience preferred
- Experience with standard costing, preferably in an SAP4 Hana environment
- Experience developing and managing a team
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles
- Be highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Be able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast ‑ paced environment
- Be team ‑ oriented with a professional and collaborative mindset
- This position is onsite/hybrid in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or holiday support as needed
