Job Summary
We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Senior Java Developer with AI experience to join our engineering team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have 12–18 years of software development experience, with deep expertise in Java and practical experience building AI-powered applications, machine learning solutions, or GenAI-based systems. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week onsite.
Candidates from leading technology companies such as Meta, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, or similar product-focused organizations are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java applications.
- Build and integrate AI/ML and Generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications.
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using modern Java frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement technical solutions.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while following engineering best practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical mentoring.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
Required Skills
- 12–18 years of hands-on Java development experience.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
- Experience with AI/ML or Generative AI technologies (LLMs, RAG, AI frameworks, or AI application development).
- Experience integrating AI models through APIs or AI platforms.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, multithreading, and system design.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and messaging technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at Meta, AWS, Microsoft, or other leading product engineering organizations.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with MLOps, vector databases, and AI deployment frameworks.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
