About the Role:
The Deli Clerk is responsible for preparing, serving, and maintaining deli food items while providing excellent customer service. This role ensures food quality, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards while maintaining an efficient and welcoming deli environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly, efficient service.
- Prepare deli items such as sandwiches, salads, meats, and cheeses according to company recipes and standards.
- Slice meats and cheeses using deli equipment safely.
- Package, weigh, and label food products accurately.
- Maintain clean and organized food preparation areas.
- Monitor food quality and freshness; rotate stock using FIFO methods.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Restock deli display cases, refrigerators, and supplies as needed.
- Operate cash register or point-of-sale system when required.
- Follow all company policies and health department regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
