Junior Quality TechnicianLocation: Shelby Township, MIIndustry: Automotive ManufacturingCompensation Range: $60,000 – $65,000 base 5% annual performance bonusJob Type: Full-TimeAbout the OpportunityA growing automotive manufacturing company is seeking a Junior Quality Technician to join its Quality team in Shelby Township. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2 years of manufacturing quality experience who wants hands-on exposure across multiple facets of quality systems in a dynamic production environment.The company operates with approximately 50 employees across eight manufacturing work cells, producing five core products. The manufacturing process includes assembly of bushings into control arm weldments and welding stamped components into finished goods. This role offers broad involvement in inspection, audits, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative, team-oriented setting.What You’ll Do● Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product conformance● Read and interpret part prints, specifications, and GD&T● Conduct first article and startup inspections following tool changes or product launches● Support CMM inspections (Hexagon preferred) using PC-DMIS software● Assist with gauge R&R studies and part layouts● Conduct quality audits of production processes and finished goods● Support ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 compliance activities● Assist with documentation related to PPAP, audits, RMAs, deviations, and PPM tracking● Participate in internal and external audits and cross-functional problem-solving efforts● Support APQP activities and continuous improvement initiatives● Assist in calibration tracking and Material Review Board (MRB) processes● Communicate inspection results and collaborate with production to resolve quality concernsWhat You Bring● 2 years of manufacturing quality experience● Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 standards● Experience reading blueprints and understanding GD&T● CMM experience (Hexagon preferred) with PC-DMIS familiarity strongly preferred● Prior welding Cut & Etch experience preferred● Experience with quality tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators● Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Minitab experience is a plus● Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy● Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally● A growth mindset and desire to expand knowledge across quality systemsWhat’s Offered● Base salary: $60,000 – $65,000● 5% annual performance bonus eligibility● Hands-on exposure across multiple quality disciplines● Opportunity to grow within a collaborative, small-team manufacturing environment● Stability within a well-structured automotive production setting
