Accounting Specialist - Manufacturing

Salary Range: $50,000–$80,000 annually
About the Opportunity
A growing steel pipe manufacturer in Dearborn, MI is seeking a hands-on Accounting Specialist to manage its day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions. The company is continuing to expand its local operations, creating an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to play an important role in supporting its growth.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong bookkeeping and accounting background who is comfortable independently managing financial records, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end and year-end accounting responsibilities. The current workload is manageable but is expected to increase as the business continues to grow.
Candidates with previous manufacturing or industrial accounting experience are preferred. Experience in the steel industry is a plus, but not required.
What You'll Do
- Manage the company's day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities
- Oversee customer invoicing and ensure accurate, timely billing
- Manage accounts receivable, including tracking outstanding payments
- Handle accounts payable, including processing and tracking vendor invoices
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date financial records
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes and related responsibilities
- Ensure day-to-day accounting activities are completed accurately and efficiently
- Support the company's growing accounting needs as operations continue to expand
What You Bring
- Strong hands-on bookkeeping and accounting experience
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing
- Experience with or the ability to independently handle month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Ability to independently maintain accurate financial records and manage daily accounting responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple accounting tasks
- Comfort working in a growing manufacturing environment where accounting responsibilities may expand over time
- Previous manufacturing or industrial accounting experience preferred
- Steel industry experience is a plus, but not required
