Job Overview
The Audit Specialist is responsible for evaluating and processing incoming devices to ensure accurate classification, data erasure verification, and inventory allocation. This role supports K12 Computers’ mission to securely and sustainably manage IT assets by ensuring all devices meet quality, functionality, and data sanitization criteria before resale or recycling.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of devices for cosmetic and functionality issues
- Power on and test device components including screens, ports, cameras, and buttons or keys
- Check and record serial numbers, model types, and technical specs
- Grade devices using company standards (e.g., A, B, C, Below Spec)
- Input audit results into internal tracking systems with precision and speed
- Collaborate with the data sanitization team to verify that all data has been securely erased
- Tag and sort devices based on classification and disposition (e.g., resale, parts, recycle)
- Flag any non-conforming or questionable units for review
- Follow all safety, data security, and environmental compliance procedures
