Role Summary
The Concrete Superintendent leads and manages concrete operations across one or multiple projects through disciplined planning, coordination, scheduling, and execution. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, to quality standards, and at planned productivity while developing foremen and crews in alignment with company Core Values. The Superintendent is the primary field execution leader—owning outcomes, removing obstacles, and holding people accountable to the plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead foremen and crews through clear expectations, consistent presence, and example
- Set the tone for safety, professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
- Manage multiple crews and job site activities simultaneously
- Hold foremen accountable for safety, planning, productivity, quality, and communication Own short-term planning: daily, weekly, and three-week look-ahead
- Ensure work is planned before it is performed and constraints are removed
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors
- Build and maintain workable field schedules; protect the critical path
- Communicate clearly with crews, Project Managers, and trade partners
- Escalate risks and issues early—no surprises
- Train and mentor foremen and crews; develop future leaders
- Ensure work meets plans, specifications, and company quality standards
- Drive productivity, reduce rework and downtime, and support accurate field reporting
