Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Department: Shipping
FLSA Classification: Nonexempt
Reports To: Operations Manager
Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm - No Fridays
Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, unpacking, confirming, and storing incoming materials and supplies. Prepares and delivers finished product for prescribed shipment protocols.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Responsible for verifying all paperwork related to outgoing and incoming shipments, including but not limited to packing slips, labels, bills of lading, freight documents.
● Responsible for verifying counts and proper packaging of outgoing shipments for safe transit.
● Prepares all paperwork pertaining to incoming material, storage of material and documenting returns of defective material and order discrepancies.
● Loads and unloads freight containers using a hand truck, pallet jack or forklift.
● Distributes products to designated departments.
● Ensures proper labeling of various containers.
● Communicates with carriers throughout the day and assists in resolving problems as they arise.
● Follows up on freight carrier claims by investigating the causes of damages or shortages.
● Assists in inventory management and communication with purchasing.
● Prepares daily paperwork to send to accounting. ● Assists with general warehouse duties.
● Complies with Quality Management System (ISO) Policies and Procedures.
● Ensures work areas and equipment are kept clean, safe and orderly
● Maintains all tools used for performing tasks.
● Observes all safety requirements and complies with all organizational, local, and federal safety and health regulations.
● Properly stores scrap/regrind until shipment is made.
● Accesses and utilizes reports to identify available scrap in the warehouse.
● Assures scrap inventory reporting compliance for audit requirements.
● Performs all other duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
● Basic math and reading skills.
● Proficiency in using computers and navigating software applications, websites, email, and Google Workspace.
● Ability to write and read in English.
Education and Experience:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
● Frequently required to stand, type, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
● Frequently required to sit; climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
● Frequently required to lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
● May encounter some hazards such as significantly loud noise levels, fumes, heat, dust, pallet moving machinery and entering and exiting trucks.
● Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required where needed: gloves, masks, safety glasses, safety shoes, ear protection, seat belts.

The pay range for this role is:
19 - 21 USD per hour(Southbridge, MA)
