K&K is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to lead industrial equipment installation and facility projects within a manufacturing environment. This role manages projects from scope through completion, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead equipment installation and modification projects end-to-end
- Develop scope and support contract & field order negotiations
- Oversee installation of:
- Robot/jig cells, conveyors, transfer systems
- HVAC, exhaust, cooling water, lighting, utilities
- Hoists, overhead rail, AGVs (as applicable)
- Manage general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and plant leadership
- Monitor safety, schedule, and budget performance
- Conduct onsite inspections and ensure spec compliance
- Support machine specs and procurement activities
- Drive resolution of field issues and maintain project momentum
- Provide project close-out and lessons learned
Requirements
- Technical school or equivalent experience
- Industrial construction/project management experience
- Experience managing contractors and subcontractors
- Hands-on exposure to industrial equipment (robots, conveyors, HVAC, piping, hoists)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work off-shifts/weekends as needed
Preferred
- Automotive manufacturing experience
- Electrical or controls background
- Experience with machine specs, procurement, AGVs, or automated systems
Technical Skills
- Excel, Word, MS Project (required)
- AutoCAD (required – basic manipulation/printing)
