Overview
We are seeking experienced Network Provisioning Engineers to support large-scale data center and network deployment initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network provisioning, routing and switching technologies, optical networking, and hyperscale data center environments. This role requires working onsite in New Albany, Ohio, supporting 24x7 operations across multiple shifts.
Required Technical Skills
Routing & Switching
- Strong understanding of BGP, IS-IS, and MPLS (Intermediate to Advanced level)
Network Platforms
- Experience with Juniper (JunOS), Arista (EOS), Cisco (IOS-XR), or Meta's FBOSS (preferred)
Data Center Networking
- Understanding of Clos/Spine-Leaf architectures
- Experience with fabric networks and Top-of-Rack (ToR) switching
Optical Networking
- Familiarity with DWDM technologies
- Experience with 800G optics (800ZR )
- Knowledge of transponder provisioning
Automation & Scripting
- Familiarity with Python-based automation tools
Ticketing & Tooling
- Experience with network management and ticketing systems
Required Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in Network Engineering, Data Center Deployment, or Network Operations
- Experience provisioning enterprise or hyperscale network devices at scale
- Hands-on experience with at least one major vendor platform (Juniper, Arista, or Cisco)
- Experience supporting large-scale network deployments in environments with 100 devices
- Understanding of data center power, cooling constraints, and physical infrastructure
Required Certifications
- CCNA / CCNP (Cisco) or JNCIA / JNCIS (Juniper)
Preferred Certifications
- Vendor-specific certifications for optical platforms such as Ciena or Infinera
Soft Skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure deployment environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with field technicians, operations teams, and engineering teams
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after onboarding
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and escalation management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI Certification (RCDD, Installer, Technician) or equivalent
- Experience in hyperscale data center environments
- OSHA 10/30 Certification
- Familiarity with DCIM tools, intake/ticketing systems, and network management dashboards
- Foundational knowledge of networking protocols and OSI Model Layers 1–4
Shift & Work Model
Work Location: Onsite in New Albany, Ohio (Eastern Time Zone). Remote work is not available.
Coverage: 24x7 operations across three 8-hour shifts:
- Day Shift: 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM ET
- Swing Shift: 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM ET
- Graveyard Shift: 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM ET
Schedule:
- 5 days on / 2 days off
- 40 hours per week
Compensation:
- Shift differentials apply for Swing and Graveyard shifts in accordance with company policy.
Core Responsibilities
1. Network Provisioning
- Execute SOLO (Single-Operation Logical Onboarding) provisioning workflows for new rack deployments
- Provision network devices including fabric switches, backbone routers, general service equipment, OOB devices, and circuits
- Configure devices using client tools with appropriate network parameters
- Perform HPRv3 (High Power Rack) provisioning for AI compute racks
- Execute circuit provisioning for peering, backbone, and intra-data center connectivity
- Manage network software updates and upgrades according to release schedules
- Support Passive Optical Network (PON) OLT provisioning and activation
2. Activation & Production Readiness
- Transition equipment from provisioned state to activation
- Execute undrain procedures to bring network infrastructure into production
- Complete Production Readiness Checklist sign-offs, including:
- Logical checks validation
- Physical quality audit confirmation
- Coordinate operational handoff with Network Operations teams
- Support partial activations and L1 zone-by-zone activation approaches during accelerated deployment schedules
3. Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting
- Perform logical testing and performance validation following provisioning activities
- Execute circuit QA/QC loopback testing in coordination with field teams
- Troubleshoot router and switch uplink failures, device provisioning issues, and circuit-level problems
- Identify and escalate design and BOM discrepancies
- Remediate provisioning fallout associated with pre-integrated rack workflows
- Document and report deployment blockers through the client's ticketing system
4. Documentation & Process Management
- Maintain deployment playbooks for assigned regions
- Update Bills of Materials (BOMs) with as-built configuration data
- Contribute to runbook creation and process improvements
- Track and report deployment progress through internal dashboards
- Support post-deployment audits and remediation activities
