Garage Door Service Technician — Bay Area, CA (1099 Independent Contractor)

We're a growing garage door repair company with steady inbound call volume across the Bay Area. We supply the leads, dispatch, and back-office support. You supply the truck, the tools, and the work ethic, and earn a commission on every job you complete. No prior garage door experience required.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair garage doors and openers: springs, cables, rollers, tracks, drums, hinges, panels
- Perform new door and opener installations
- Run 3–6 dispatched service calls per day
- Provide accurate on-site estimates and close work at the door
- Collect payment on-site and submit job documentation same-day
Requirements
- 21 years of age, valid driver's license, clean driving record
- Own pickup truck or work van
- Purchase your own tools and starting parts inventory — approx. $5,000. We provide the required list; you source and buy it yourself
- Registered LLC or corporation (or willingness to form one before start)
- General liability insurance
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with customers, dispatch, and technical documentation
- Mechanically inclined and good with your hands
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work on ladders in varied weather
