We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Manager 2 to join our team at K&A Engineering in Cincinnati, OH. We are seeking a highly organized and driven Transmission Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of transmission and substation projects ranging in complexity and budgetfrom approximately $100,000 to $25 million. This role is responsible for full lifecycle project management, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder coordination, and field support.
Typical projects may include:
- New transmission line construction
- Line rebuild or upgrade projects
- New substation construction
- Transformer replacements
- Switchgear replacements
- Multi-discipline or hybrid project scopes
You will serve as the primary leader once projects transition from Development, ensuring the project team is aligned, engaged, and progressing toward successful completion.
Role Expectations:
- Manage all aspects of assigned transmission and substation projects, including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables.
- Lead project kickoff and regular coordination meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Monitor and report project finances with support from the Project Controls team.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, updating milestones throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure stakeholder responsibilities and tasks are completed on time.
- Perform occasional site visits to support construction teams and validate project progress.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety requirements and company safety policies.
- Use and maintain proper PPE, which may include fire-retardant clothing, hard hat, EH-rated boots, and protective eyewear.
- Provide clear, consistent communication and documentation for internal teams and leadership.

Required:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
- 3 years of project management experience, preferably in transmission, utility, or large infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting tools.
- Ability to perform field visits, including adherence to PPE and safety protocols.
Preferred:
- PMP or other project management certification.
- Experience in electric transmission or substation construction projects.
- Familiarity with utility industry standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Pay Range $50-56/hour
