We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team at K&A Engineering in Bethpage, Long Island. Role Expectations
- Cost estimating for the electrical utility industry, including knowledge related to the scope of the specific programs related to generation and transmission
- Assist the Business leaders for data necessary to support customer price requests and responses.
- Determine understanding of risk associated with large capital projects and the application of contingency.
- Analyze key themes and trends to ensure all factors are properly considered, priced and included in the project estimate.
- Compare detailed project scopes as constructed versus as budgeted and document variances.
- Background in competitive solicitations.
- Document findings and develop improvement plans based on the analysis.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within area of responsibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance or Business Administration, or other related degrees preferred.
- 5 years experience as an estimator or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related
- Preferred - Utility Project Management, Risk Management and/or Estimating experience
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, SAP, and general knowledge of PowerPoint and Microsoft Project or other scheduling software.
- Knowledge of the supply chain for the utility industry.
- History with constructability reviews and value engineering
- Construction Management is a plus
- General knowledge of construction market, estimating techniques, engineered drawings, cost control, and scheduling of equipment procurement and construction of projects.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proven interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of planning, design, and construction process.
- Able to work and interact with various team members during all phases of projects
- Able to report to the office- Hybrid Schedule
