We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team at K&A Engineering in Bethpage, Long Island. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations

• Cost estimating for the electrical utility industry, including knowledge related to the scope of the specific programs related to generation and transmission
• Assist the Business leaders for data necessary to support customer price requests and responses.
• Determine understanding of risk associated with large capital projects and the application of contingency.
• Analyze key themes and trends to ensure all factors are properly considered, priced and included in the project estimate.
• Compare detailed project scopes as constructed versus as budgeted and document variances.
• Background in competitive solicitations.
• Document findings and develop improvement plans based on the analysis.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within area of responsibility
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance or Business Administration, or other related degrees preferred.
• 5 years experience as an estimator or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related
• Preferred - Utility Project Management, Risk Management and/or Estimating experience
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, SAP, and general knowledge of PowerPoint and Microsoft Project or other scheduling software.
• Knowledge of the supply chain for the utility industry.
• History with constructability reviews and value engineering
• Construction Management is a plus
• General knowledge of construction market, estimating techniques, engineered drawings, cost control, and scheduling of equipment procurement and construction of projects.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proven interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of planning, design, and construction process.
• Able to work and interact with various team members during all phases of projects
• Able to report to the office- Hybrid Schedule
  
  

Pay Range: $85,000-$110,000/year
