Hybrid Litigation Paralegal needed in Boston. Full-time role, $80K-$85K, plus bonus, profit sharing, 401K match, 3 weeks PTO, 8 personal day & 11 paid holidays. Full medical and the rest. Asbestos Experience and Toxic Tort IDEAL. Servicing 3 Attorneys
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research, analyze caselaw, and draft legal memoranda and pleadings.
Conduct background research on parties and witnesses via public records searches, social media, and the internet, and report on same.
Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
Initial drafting of Answers, discovery requests and responses, pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, and other pleadings.
Review, evaluate and summarize discovery documents including medical records, employment records, and other case material.
Draft subpoenas and monitor for compliance. Review and summarize documents received.
Compile motion packages for filing with the court.
Perform cite checking and proof reading of briefs and other legal documents.
Manage the document production processes of both hard and electronic documents.
Collect material from client, opposing parties, and third parties (hard copies, electronic data, physical evidence).
Assist at all phases of litigation including motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures.
Serve as liaison with clients including frequent personal interaction.
Research prior testimony and publications of opposing experts.
Research rules of procedure for relevant court venues throughout New England and assure adherence thereto.
Select, collate, and prepare binders of key documents during key litigation phases including depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
Administratively manage all phases of a litigation case including litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1-3 years litigation experience.
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Detail-oriented and highly focused.
Capable of handling multiple responsibilities.
Possess excellent verbal and written skills.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required.
Preference to mid-level candidates with experience using legal systems such as Westlaw, File & Serve Xpress, and PACER.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned, some of which may be essential to the position.
Hours and Locations of Work
Boston, MA based hybrid position (3 days in office)
Routinely, Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm, with availability for later daily hours and weekends if needed
Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
