Job Summary
The Director of Sales at Juvia's Place leads retail sales strategy and revenue growth across Ulta Beauty and new wholesale accounts. This role owns the full commercial relationship with retail partners, from sell-in through sell-through, and drives performance through strategic planning, data-driven analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Working closely with the CEO, COO, and Head of Retail Marketing, the Director aligns promotional strategy, new product launches, and retail expansion with broader brand objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management
- Own and grow the Juvia's Place retail business at Ulta Beauty and new doors, developing account strategies that maximize revenue, profitability, and brand presence.
- Serve as the primary brand liaison with retail partners, building strong relationships with buying and planning counterparts and representing the brand with confidence and expertise.
- Lead seasonal and annual business reviews, delivering strategic recommendations on assortment, pricing, promotions, and space allocation.
- Manage sell-in and sell-through of forecasted dollar volume and product mix, proactively identifying and closing performance gaps.
Sales Planning & Analysis
- Set and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and expense estimates across retail accounts, with accountability to P&L outcomes.
- Conduct in-depth business analysis to understand trends, identify opportunities, and surface actionable insights that drive retail and net sales growth.
- Deliver clear weekly and monthly business reporting to executive leadership, including competitive analysis and mix of business breakdowns.
- Communicate the current and future state of the business clearly to senior stakeholders, including risks, gaps, and mitigation plans.
Inventory & Operations
- Oversee inventory strategy across retail accounts, partnering with planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels, product mix, and replenishment cadence.
- Proactively monitor and resolve low or out-of-stock conditions, manage RTVs, and maintain the stock and sales plan.
- Manage new product submissions and updates in retailer systems, including Ulta PIM.
- Coordinate timely ordering and ensure inventory availability aligns with promotional and launch activity.
Go-to-Market & Promotional Execution
- Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and Head of Retail Marketing to build and manage promotional strategy; input and maintain agreed-upon contracts and budgets.
- Partner with marketing and visual merchandising to execute seasonal gondola updates, new door openings, and product launches on time and on brief.
- Prepare account meeting materials and represent the brand in buying office meetings and key negotiations.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment by communicating account needs, updates, and decisions to relevant internal teams in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in retail sales, national account management, or wholesale within beauty, personal care, or consumer goods.
- Demonstrated track record managing a major retail account (Ulta Beauty, Sephora, Target, or similar) with measurable sell-through results.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable building and interpreting sales reports, forecasts, and P&L statements.
- Experience with retailer systems such as Ulta PIM, Retail Link, or equivalent platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to influence and instill confidence at the executive level.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA a plus.
