Responsibilities
- Operate various tow trucks including flatbed, rollback, and specialized recovery vehicles to transport vehicles safely and efficiently
- Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls, providing professional support to stranded motorists
- Load and unload vehicles using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or other equipment as needed
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to reach destinations quickly and accurately
- Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations during operations
- Secure vehicles properly to prevent damage during transit, adhering to logistics cargo handling standards
- Maintain detailed logs of all trips, vehicle inspections, and incident reports in compliance with safety protocols
- Assist with vehicle recovery from accident scenes or difficult terrains using appropriate equipment such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks when necessary
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record and experience in commercial truck driving or delivery driving
- Prior experience operating tow trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles preferred
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including the handling of hazardous or dangerous goods when applicable
- Familiarity with route driving, over-the-road (OTR) routes, and logistics cargo handling processes
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and hazardous materials regulations essential for safe operation
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools to optimize efficiency
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively in various weather conditions
