Our client is seeking a Senior Post Production Engineer to support a high‑volume content operations environment. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing post‑production infrastructure, workflows, and systems while providing hands‑on support to editorial teams. The ideal candidate is highly technical, proactive, and comfortable working onsite in a fast‑paced post‑production setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain post‑production infrastructure including shared storage, LTO, Avid Interplay, and VMware environments
- Implement new hardware and software across the department
- Design, test, and improve technical workflows and system architecture
- Support large‑scale software deployments
- Troubleshoot A/V, hardware, software, and network issues; work closely with vendors and internal teams
- Provide hands‑on technical support for Avid editorial workflows
- Monitor system performance, resolve outages, and document errors
- Develop and maintain custom scripts to automate workflows
- Manage virtual machines and related workflows
- Serve as a technical liaison across editorial, engineering, and vendor teams
Required Qualifications
- 3 years in a post‑production editorial environment
- 3 years as an Assistant Editor working in Avid
- 2 years of scripting experience (Perl, JavaScript, Shell)
- Advanced knowledge of Avid workflows and infrastructure, including:
- Avid Interplay and Avid Nexus
- Media lifecycle from ingest through editorial delivery
- Experience with Media Asset Management (MAM) systems
- Hands‑on experience with Stornext and Isilon storage platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the entertainment industry
- Live production support experience
- Advanced desktop support and networking troubleshooting skills
- Customer service background
- Familiarity with content marketing workflows
- Experience with Telestream Vantage and DaVinci Resolve
Highly Desired Experience
- Tiered storage management using LTO and cloud platforms
- Delivery specifications and technical QC tools (waveform monitors, audio metering)
- Implementing large‑scale post‑production workflow changes
- Creation of DCPs, Digests, and KDMs
- Knowledge of broadcast standards
- Strong project management and multitasking skills
- Understanding of video formats and codecs (UHD, DNxHD, ProRes, MXF)
- VMware ESXi and network troubleshooting experience
Certifications (Preferred)
- Avid Certification
- Avid Interplay and Nexus certifications strongly preferred
