Financial Systems Manager

JustinBradley’s long-term law firm client is seeking a Manager of Financial Systems to oversee the technology platforms supporting the firm’s Accounting and Finance operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Billing, Collections, Timekeeping, and Expense Reimbursement. This role ensures system reliability, data integrity, and timely reporting while leading process improvements and supporting end users across the firm. The manager supervises a small team of systems analysts.

Responsibilities

• Lead system implementations and upgrades for financial applications (e.g., 3E, Chrome River, Intapp Time).
• Evaluate new solutions, participate in vendor selection, and guide system configuration and testing.
• Manage project plans, functional testing, and coordination with IT and Finance stakeholders.
• Oversee month-end close processes, including reconciliation of WIP, AR, and GL data.
• Troubleshoot issues, coordinate with vendors, and escalate incidents when needed.
• Manage change requests, testing, data validation, and user communication.
• Maintain data quality across financial systems, ensuring accurate calculations, workflows, and business rules.
• Manage application security roles, access permissions, and system controls in partnership with IT.
• Perform routine quality assurance and data integrity checks.
• Create custom SQL queries and reporting solutions using tools such as SSRS.
• Produce ad hoc reports, data extracts, and tailored analyses to support Accounting operations and departments across the firm.
• Manage reporting needs and collaborate with technical teams on data architecture.
• Process Improvement & Automation
• Review workflows to identify efficiency opportunities.
• Uphold high standards of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity, particularly with respect to all sensitive and/or confidential firm and client information to which this position will have access.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5 years of experience supporting financial systems, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, report development tools, and financial application management.
• Proficient in SQL, SSRS, VBA, XML, and advanced Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
  
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience maintaining legal financial applications (3E, Intapp Suite).
