Education:
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at this level.
Experience:
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
- Experience analyzing the impact of equity formulas, populations, programs, etc., to budget requests and allotments; including periodically redistributing resources as a result of reprogramming of funds and other changes through continuing resolution, etc.
- Experience in analyzing and revising annual budget estimates in accordance with program and legislative changes.
- Experience in providing advice, guidance, training or evaluation for programs in regional field institutions.
If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities.

Responsibilities:
Serves as the Budget Manager and directs the annual allocation for operations in the regional office.
Oversees management of salary and operating budgets for the entire region, to include oversight of institution budgets within the region.
Coordinates the budget operations, furnishes guidelines and technical expertise to institutions in the region.
Responsible for review and evaluation of statistical reports submitted by the institutions.
Formulates and develops the annual regional operating plan for each fiscal year by each correctional discipline.
