Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Systems Engineer – IWS / TPM drives equipment improvement, standardization, and problem solving for assigned production line(s) at Just Born’s Bethlehem, PA facility.
As part of the Line Trio, this role partners with the Production Business Unit Leader and Maintenance Systems Leader to own line performance across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, and Nature (SQCDMN). The focus is on initiating and sustaining operational excellence through Integrated Work Systems (IWS), disciplined daily management, and continuous improvement cycles.
This role blends technical depth with systems leadership, translating data and analysis into practical improvements that strengthen safety, quality, and throughput on the manufacturing floor.

How You’ll Impact Results:
Loss Elimination & Problem Solving
Identify, analyze, and prioritize top operational and technical losses
Conduct thorough assessments using structured problem‑solving tools
Propose and implement solutions that streamline processes, reduce failures, and minimize manual intervention
Apply data management, visualization, and analytical tools to support decision‑making
Deliver analyses and models that translate insights into improved business outcomes
Integrated Work Stream / Daily Management Systems
Own and manage Daily Management Systems (DMS) for assigned line(s), including Centerlining (CL), Clean, Inspect & Lubricate (CIL), and Changeover (CO)
Own Daily Direction Setting (DDS) and support run‑to‑target execution
Act as a coach to advance IWS capability, support execution of the Strategic Work Plan (SWP), and strengthen standards
Drive disciplined execution of foundational EHS and Quality systems
Standards, Technical Direction & Operational Excellence
Set and sustain equipment, process, and system standards that support safe and reliable operation
Act as a technical resource and role model for standard adherence and problem solving
Support equipment improvement, standardization, and optimization initiatives
Provide technical direction that aligns line execution with plant and business priorities
Value Creation & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Participate in annual loss analysis to identify trends and prioritize improvement opportunities
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to define and implement solutions that improve overall operational performance
Share and scale best practices across operations where appropriate
Influence decisions related to resource, time, and cost optimization
Safety, Compliance & Presence
Understand and reinforce proper execution of EHS and Quality foundations
Consistently model safe behaviors and standard work
Maintain a strong floor presence to support problem solving, coaching, and system execution
Adapt schedule as needed to support manufacturing operations, including nights, weekends, or overtime when required
Your Qualifications That Will Ensure Success:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a technical field required
2+ years of relevant manufacturing, engineering, or operations experience
Demonstrated ability to set standards, coach others, and provide technical direction
Experience working across disciplines and departments to align on solutions
Experience with an IWS (Integrated Work System), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or Six Sigma Lean system
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills
Ability to influence and build alignment without relying on hierarchy
Effective coaching, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to translate data, analysis, and models into practical improvements
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar systems preferred
Comfort working in a fluid, fast‑paced manufacturing environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and sound judgment
Flexibility to adapt schedule to support manufacturing operations, including nights, weekends, or overtime as needed
