Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team on the second shift. In this role, you will operate and maintain a variety of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines. Your expertise in programming (minimal), setup, and quality control will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues with Fanuc controls or other programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and adjust tooling as needed for optimal performance.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts or other materials handling equipment; assist with fabrication, assembly line tasks, or packaging when required.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, production logs, quality inspections, and shift reports.
- Collaborate with team members on tooling adjustments, process improvements, and quality control initiatives to enhance productivity.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, or flexo presses in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code; familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T specifications for precise machining.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling setup, fabrication processes, welding basics, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or similar programs for part design review; CAM programming skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality assurance.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts safely within a factory setting.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and machine adjustments; familiarity with factory safety protocols is essential.
