Job Title: Quality Technician
Location: Addison, IL
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Shift: 2nd shift 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday
Responsibilities
Responsible for food safety and product integrity.
Examine materials before startup.
Conduct audits of facility conditions and GMPs.
Ensure codes are accurate on packaged and cased products.
Perform visual inspections on packaged products.
Perform net contents sampling and monitor for compliance.
Perform quality inspections on raw material, packaging components, labels, and finished product to ensure conformance to specifications.
Perform sensory evaluations of components and finished products.
Perform clean equipment inspection and conduct microbiological/chemical sampling for analysis.
Understand and follow all standards, food safety policies, and procedures. Document and communicate any non-conforming product, perform corrective actions, and place materials on hold.
Assist in performing inspection and inventory of held materials.
Coach site personnel in GMPs, product specifications, and sanitary condition standards.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma (GED) or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the food industry.
Knowledge of the food environment is preferred.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred.
Effective verbal, listening, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work well with other departments.
Able to work off-shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Self-directed.
Preferred Special Skills: Bilingual
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Must be able to constantly (8 hrs/day):
Stand, bend, climb, twist (neck and waist), perform repetitive hand use (power grasping), push/pull, and reach above/below shoulder level.
Safety Risks
Physical: Slips, trips, and falls may occur.
Chemical: Exposure to chemicals that may cause irritation.
Biological: Potential exposure to pathogens (e.g., Salmonella, Listeria).
All safety risks are mitigated through GMP and sanitation practices.
