Description:
The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight of the Just Foods Collaborative & Food Council. This role aligns operations with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals, while supporting board priorities and managing the Collaborative’s Action Plan. Responsibilities include strengthening community engagement, expanding the Collaborative’s presence in Nash and Edgecombe Counties, cultivating partnerships across food systems, directing program oversight, fundraising, and overseeing financial management. The Executive Director also supports the Board of Directors with governance, reporting, and administrative duties, ensuring that Just Foods continues to advance food equity, access, and distribution across the region.
Responsibilities:
· Provide organizational leadership, coordination, and oversight under the Board’s supervision.
· Facilitate major Collaborative activities and identify promising strategies.
· Build partnerships with external stakeholders and expand organizational visibility.
· Cultivate and maintain relationships across food systems and the broader community.
· Direct community engagement, program oversight, and integration of the Action Plan.
· Incorporate findings from regional projects into Just Foods’ Action Plan.
· Lead fundraising efforts, grant writing, and budget/financial management.
· Support Board governance and distribute timely resources to Collaborative partners.
· Oversee communication efforts, including social media and public outreach.
Qualifications:
· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s in Non-Profit Management, Public Administration, Public Health, Environmental Management, or related field preferred.
· Demonstrated experience in relationship building, especially in rural and diverse communities.
· Experience with strategic planning, program execution, and outcome evaluation.
· Strong skills in budgeting, fundraising, and financial management.
· Excellent communication, public speaking, and advocacy abilities.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
