- They are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Project Managers & Project Managers to lead and oversee significant commercial construction projects in the Chicago region.
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, with preference given to those possessing experience in either Mission Critical / Data Center construction or large-scale commercial developments
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Provide overall leadership and direction for assigned commercial construction projects, which may include Mission Critical / Data Center facilities or large-scale commercial developments.
- Manage and mentor project teams, including Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the pre-construction phase, including constructability reviews, value engineering, and development of project schedules and budgets.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Manage and control project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, and change order management.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture on project sites.
- Oversee the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct regular project meetings with the project team, clients, and stakeholders to communicate progress, address issues, and ensure alignment.
- Proactively identify and resolve project-related issues, conflicts, and potential delays.
- Monitor and enforce contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure quality control throughout the construction process.
- Manage project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and project documentation.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and best practices within the company.
- For candidates with Mission Critical / Data Center experience, specific responsibilities may include understanding and managing requirements related to power, cooling, security, and redundancy.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in commercial construction project management.
- Demonstrated experience in either:
- Managing Mission Critical / Data Center construction projects, including a strong understanding of the unique technical requirements of these facilities.
- Managing large-scale commercial construction projects, such as high-rise buildings, large industrial complexes, significant healthcare facilities, or large mixed-use developments.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and other relevant technology.
- Excellent leadership, communication (both written and verbal), negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate project teams.
- Solid understanding of financial management principles and cost control.
- Experience with contract administration and change order management.
- OSHA certification (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour) preferred.
- LEED accreditation is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid driver's license.
Salary : $130,000 - $180,000
