Senior Project Manager – Healthcare Capital Projects (Owner’s Representative)
About the Role
Our client is an owner’s program management firm supporting leading healthcare systems and other major hospital networks nationwide. They serve as the owner’s representative on complex healthcare capital projects, ensuring successful delivery of major design and construction initiatives from planning through completion.
They are seeking a Senior Project Manager with strong healthcare construction experience to manage large-scale hospital and clinical facility projects on behalf of the owner. This role acts as the key liaison between the healthcare system and external delivery teams, ensuring clinical, operational, and technical requirements are fully integrated into project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the owner’s representative on major healthcare capital projects
- Lead and coordinate all phases of project delivery including:
- Pre-design and programming
- Design management (architects, engineers, consultants)
- Construction oversight
- Commissioning and closeout
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and scope alignment with owner objectives
- Coordinate stakeholders including:
- Hospital leadership and clinical end-users
- Architects and design teams
- General contractors and subcontractors
- Medical equipment planners and vendors
- Translate clinical and operational requirements into actionable design and construction deliverables
- Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with healthcare codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Lead project meetings, reporting, and governance structures
- Manage risk identification, issue resolution, and change management
- Ensure seamless integration of medical equipment, infrastructure, and building systems
- Support occupancy planning and transition to operations
Required Qualifications
- 7–15 years of experience in construction project management or program management
- Strong background in healthcare facilities or hospital construction projects
- Experience working in or with: Owner’s representative firms, or General contractors, architecture/engineering firms, or healthcare systems
- Proven ability to manage large, complex capital projects (multi-million-dollar scale)
- Strong understanding of construction delivery methods (CM at Risk, Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build)
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory environments and facility standards
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders in high-complexity environments
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in active hospital environments (phased construction / live facilities)
- Familiarity with medical equipment planning and installation coordination
- PMP certification or similar project management credentials
- Prior experience in owner’s rep or program management consulting firms
