What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant position at Just 4 Kids Health?
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Just 4 Kids Health will assess, plan, and provide care under the supervision of a physician. They will examine and treat patients to ensure proper injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Job duties primarily include the following:
- Assess and treat patient needs within an urgent care setting and triage patients to differentiate between immediate and less urgent care.
- Assess, plan, and treat patients under the supervision of a physician.
- Perform digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgical procedures.
- Participate in required education courses and perform CME credits to maintain license.
- Communicate patient needs, diagnosis, and course of treatment to the patient, as well as other clinical staff and instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation to Just 4 Kids Urgent Care staff, insurance carriers, and companies.
- Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA).
- Ensure a superior patient experience, by embracing the Just 4 Kids mission and values, and treating all with compassion and respect.
The preferred candidate for the Nurse Practitioner position will:
- Hold a current license as a registered nurse if NP. Graduation with a masters degree from an accredited education program and successfully passing a certification exam.
- Must possess a current license to practice medicine in the state of ID and an active DEA license and State Controlled Substance Certificate.
- Knowledge of advanced medical terminology, basic emergency, pediatric and generalist procedures.
- Ability to use the necessary equipment such as the nebulizer, EKG machine, etc.
- Proven excellent quality and clinical standards.
- Current PALS certified
- Organizational and analytical skills necessary to maintain efficient workflow.
- Ability to adjust responsibilities to accommodate a fast-paced work environment wile maintaining excellent customer service and staff interactions.
