JSecurity Officer – Floater (Class D) – Miami
Team JAI is a family-owned Miami security agency founded in 1976. We're hiring a dependable Security Officer – Floater to cover shifts across multiple client sites in Miami, including a high-end luxury property.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Varied shifts including weekends, with a target of 40 hours per week
Location: Miami, FL – multiple sites
License: Active Florida Class D Security Officer License required
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a floater, you keep our posts covered. You fill scheduled shifts, vacation coverage and last-minute call-offs. Management assigns some shifts. You pick up others yourself through our self-scheduling app. Exact hours vary week to week based on coverage needs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Patrol assigned areas on foot and by vehicle
- Monitor entrances, exits and restricted areas, and control access to the property
- Respond to incidents, emergencies and alarms, and contact police, fire or EMS when needed
- Write clear, accurate and timely incident reports
- Assist residents, guests, employees and visitors professionally
- Enforce site rules and procedures
- Adapt quickly to new properties, clients and supervisors
REQUIREMENTS
- Active Florida Class D Security Officer License
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to sites across the Miami area
- Conversational Spanish and English
- 0–2 years of security experience
- Available for varied and irregular shifts, including weekends and short notice
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods during foot patrols
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
PREFERRED
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
- High school diploma or GED
