Golfco. - Equipment Operator 1
JOB SUMMARY:
The Equipment Operator I, under the supervision of the Grounds Foreman, performs routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance; does semi-skilled maintenance work; operates small walking and riding mowing equipment; operates small hand powered equipment; and occasionally performs work involving changing water coolers and trash removal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES and other duties as may be assigned related to this position.
Operates mowing equipment for greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
Operates string trimmers and edgers around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers. Occasionally operates aerifiers and topdressing equipment.
Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily.
Reports equipment problems or failure to the Equipment Manager immediately.
Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.
Helps in project work; assists in the construction of greens, tees and fairways; grades and prepares soil base; lays sod on tees, green and fairways.
Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A High School education or GED with a minimum of 1-year work-related experience desired
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A valid Florida Driver’s License is preferred.
