As a Maintenance Apprentice, you will assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment across our chain of grocery stores. This entry-level role is designed to provide hands-on experience and training in various aspects of maintenance work, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs. The Maintenance Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced maintenance personnel and gain the skills necessary for a successful career in facilities management.
Additional Duties: Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations. Employees will be provided with proper training and protective equipment for any and all assigned tasks that require special handling.
Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role, with technical or vocational training in facilities maintenance or a related field being a plus. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills are preferred, along with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry over 25 pounds, sometimes exceeding 100 pounds, work in various environmental conditions, and perform manual tasks. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and store staff are essential. A strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges are also important. While previous experience in maintenance or a similar facilities role is advantageous, it is not required. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary, and overtime may be authorized in certain situations. On-the-job training will be provided, and all necessary tools will be supplied.
