POSITION OVERVIEW
The Learning Experience Manager, reporting directly to the Strategic Director of Education, is responsible for overseeing and supporting schools across assigned counties by building strong relationships with educators, administrators, and community partners. This position ensures the effective implementation of Junior Achievement (JA) programs and experiences, including JA Days, classroom programs, and other educational initiatives that advance students’ financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship skills.
In addition to working directly with schools, this role engages with the business community to connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities that support JA’s mission. The Learning Experience Manager works closely with school staff to identify the best program solutions for their students and ensures a positive, impactful learning experience for all participants.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualifications
- Computer literate, especially with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in conducting virtual meetings using Zoom and Microsoft Teams, as well as leading in-person meetings upon request
- Proficiency in database/constituency management
- Comfortable using online learning platforms
- Energetic, flexible, and positive attitude
- Experience with student and volunteer engagement
- Knowledge and experience with diverse educational delivery models
- Knowledge of effective training solutions to provide a supportive experience for educators and volunteers
- Be a goal driven self-starter who enjoys providing exceptional customer-focused service
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects to successful completion
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to ensure a smooth delivery of information and project status
- Exceptional public speaking skills, with the ability to confidently engage and inspire diverse audiences—including volunteers, students, and educators—in both small and large group settings, including training sessions
Learning Experience Management
- Demonstrate knowledge of and support JA programs, processes, and technology applications.
- Meet or exceed JAWPA’s student success goals in alignment with departmental goals.
- Oversee assigned counties/territories, including:
- Recruiting new schools (per the overall organization strategic growth plan) and cultivating relationships with existing schools/districts
- Supporting schools with program implementation
- Overseeing JA programming (from scheduling to completion)
- Ordering kits and materials through approved JA supply processes while maintaining the educational materials budget
- Delivering kits and materials to schools and volunteers as needed
- Tracking and maintaining current classes and student counts
- Recruiting and training volunteers for diverse programming
- Tracking volunteer documentation (clearances, volunteer releases, media, etc.)
- Following up with educators regarding feedback and program effectiveness
- Providing student numbers, testimonials, and photos for grant reporting
- Attending JA Days as assigned to ensure smooth operations and evaluate effectiveness
- Participate in community or school events to bring knowledge of JA programming offerings
Technology
- Enter and maintain school and constituent data in BCRM
- Create and verify classes in BCRM
- Support educators and students with various JA program platforms
Scholarships
- Assist with scholarship application processing and communication with schools as needed
Miscellaneous
- Attend JA USA webinars and trainings
- Attend JAWPA trainings
- Participate in JAWPA staff meetings
- Travel in territory, region, and to other JA sites
- Actively participate in education team planning, implementation, and evaluation activities
REQUIRED CLEARANCES & CERTIFICATIONS:
In the interest of keeping with the highest standards of student safety, all staff will be required to obtain the following clearances and certifications. The following clearances MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE DATE.

PA State Criminal Record Check (Act 34) may be obtained by visiting https://www.psp.pa.gov/Pages/Criminal-History-Background-Check.aspx
In addition to the above two clearances, you will also need:
FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check (Act 114). You will need to schedule an appointment and have this done at a provider, then receive the results within a few weeks.
PA Mandated Reporter Training can be done online and while it is free of cost, it does take a few hours. https://www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu/
Must have or be willing to obtain a certification in CPR, First Aid & AED.
Please note that if the above clearances were free of cost, volunteer clearances, they are only valid for two years past the date they were obtained.
