Position Overview
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and supporting volunteers who help deliver Junior Achievement programs across the JA Inspiration Center and community partner sites. This role ensures volunteers are prepared, organized, and engaged so that every program day runs smoothly for students, teachers, and community partners.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple schedules in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
- Recruit volunteers from corporations, community organizations, and individuals
- Build relationships with community partners and volunteer groups
- Communicate regularly with volunteers regarding upcoming opportunities and program needs
Volunteer Scheduling & Coordination
- Manage volunteer schedules for program days and special events
- Coordinate volunteer assignments for Junior Achievement Finance Park, Betty’s Junior Achievement BizTown, and other JA programs and events
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and participation data
Volunteer Training & Preparation
- Facilitate volunteer orientations and provide training resources
- Ensure volunteers understand their roles before program participation
- Provide on-site support during programs and events
Program Support
- Collaborate with the education team to align volunteer needs with program delivery
- Assist with program day logistics and volunteer check-in
- Help ensure volunteers and students have a positive experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- Experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit programs, event coordination, or community engagement preferred
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or volunteer management systems is a plus

Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada
Pay Range
$19.00 – $21.50 per hour
Full-Time | Approximately 40 hours per week
