Description
Primary Objective of Position
Joia Beach Club Miami is seeking a dedicated Bar and Lounge Supervisor with great understanding of food service and bar operations.
Essential Functions
- Understand and apply all safety and security procedures to always maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests. In the event of an accident, get medical attention if necessary and contact GM or MOD.
- Responsible for making sure a Worker's Comp or General Liability claim is filed within 24hours.
- Maintain an organized and efficient Restaurant.
- Maintain organized and efficient operations in Bar and Lounge.
- Determine, communicate, and monitor achievement standards and standards of performance on a timely basis.
- Handle disciplinary action and counseling sessions, as necessary.
- Work in a fast paced and customer service-oriented environment; perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Help oversees operation of all food and beverage operations.
- Knowledgeability of computer terminal, POS System, Paycom time & attendance.
- Attend BEO, Staff and Food & Beverage Meetings.
- Assist the Bar and Lounge Manager on all daily tasks.
- Handle and send beverage orders to suppliers weekly.
- Run glassware inventory monthly
- Create SOPS for bar and lounge operations
- Assist Bar and Lounge Manager to create or update cocktail program.
- Handle accounting for all purchases and inventory.
- Analyze and monitor day-to-day operation reports, monthly and yearly financial statements, labor costs.
- Perform Special projects as necessary for the General Manager or the Bar and Lounge Manager.
- Communicate with other Managers regarding internal events.
- Taste food and beverage products from all areas, to ensure quality and consistency.
- Market ideas and promotions (strategies) in the F&B Department.
- Handle customers who are satisfied or dissatisfied with any service provided at Restaurant.
- Oversee all formal or informal disciplinary action regarding any F&B associate.
- Monitor F&B Computer POS systems; assists in monitoring cashier procedures.
- Work job responsibilities of associates when business dictates.
- Open restaurant and close, follow all procedures. Make sure that opening and closing procedures are followed.
Physical Demands
- This position requires long hours of standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
- It is a must that this person is physically able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds or more.
- This position may require you to work in adverse weather conditions like rain, cold and the summer heat.

- Minimum of Five (5) years Food & Beverage and Restaurant / Hotel experience.
- Must have previous leadership experience in a high-volume Restaurant or similar size and nature.
