Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support procedures.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient information, medical records, and treatment plans.
- Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, and handling patient inquiries with professionalism.
- Conduct ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to facilitate billing and insurance processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office settings with knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding.
- Hands-on experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or inpatient environments such as PICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Skilled in EMR/EHR systems management along with proficiency in medical documentation and records management.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with phlebotomy techniques, medication administration protocols, and vital signs monitoring.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings such as emergency departments or outpatient clinics while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience supporting geriatrics, internal medicine patients or working within hospital or clinic environments is advantageous.
