What are the responsibilities and job description for the Remote Medical Director / Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position at Jump Start?
An established Article 31 (MHOTRS) mental-health clinic is seeking an additional Medical Director or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to support our team on a remote basis. This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys light oversight and telehealth flexibility rather than a heavy caseload.
Position Overview
The provider will serve as the medical lead for clinical compliance and psychiatric services.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and signing off treatment plans in accordance with OMH Part 599 standards
- Conducting psychiatric evaluations and occasional medication-management visits via telehealth
- Providing clinical oversight to ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and best-practice care
- Participating in case discussions and electronic chart review as needed
- Maintaining clear documentation and timely electronic sign-offs
Qualifications
- Active New York State license as Psychiatrist (MD/DO) or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- DEA registration (if prescribing)
- Knowledge of Article 31 / MHOTRS requirements and OMH clinical standards
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Telehealth experience preferred
