Jump On Languages is looking for a talented Lead Spanish Teacher to join our team. As one of JOL's teachers we work with you to understand your availability and have several program where you can make an impact: Spanish afterschool programs (K-5), Spanish preschool teacher (ages 3-5), individual or small group teacher and/or tutoring. Jump On Languages has many great programs and we need to fill this critical position for our Spanish Programs that are fun-filled, adventurous and focused on kids. We are seeking a teacher who is interested in making a meaningful positive impact with our students and team. Someone who wants to grow professionally and help our program grow. Our teachers are passionate about making language learning fun through hands-on activities, songs, games, outdoor fun, STEAM programs and cultural connections. Our teachers’ role is key in ensuring that children have a safe yet FUN experience learning Spanish.
Duties for this position will include, but is not limited to:
- Contribute to the creation of curriculum material that can be shared with other teachers.
- Plan and carry out age-appropriate activities, games, songs, and lessons consistent with goals.
- Provide a safe, caring, fun environment for children.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Interact with parents to answer ongoing questions.
- Help prepare progress reports as necessary for families.
- Help with transportation of kids from their schools to our location in Phinney Center
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or related field (Preferred)
- Experience with Children: At least 2 years
- Fully bilingual Spanish/English
- First Aid/CPR Certification Required, but can be obtained between offer and start date.
- Pass required state and company background checks.
- Eligible to work in the US
- Excellent Organization and Communication Skills
- Reliable transportation
- WA State drivers license. A vehicle is not required, we will provide one.
- Ability to lift 10lbs
- STARS ID, Childcare Basics and/or School Age Basics courses completed is a preferred qualification. It will be required to be completed within 30-days of starting employment.
- Food handler card is required. If not available, we will pay for the training once you start.
- Blood borne pathogens training is required. If not available, we will pay for the training once you start.
This position starts at an average of 25 hours/week, but with time it can grow to 35 depending on candidate qualifications, interest and available opportunities. Base pay is between $25-$30/hour depending on experience and availability.
