Position Summary:
Responsible for all Night operations including Selection, Replenishment, Dock Management, Loading, Yard & Jockey, On-Time departures, Sanitation, and Receiving when necessary. This role will oversee all aspects of the Night operation regarding Safety, Efficiency, and Quality.

- Daily Review and Planning
- Review previous day stats; compile tracker day by day; roll up to month; graph trends.
- Send daily schedule.
- Review quality (scanning %, mispicks, skipped scans, misloads).
- Respond and follow up with action plans, coaching, and discipline where required.
- Walk floor with Day management to identify concerns, slot issues, and check equipment (charging, cleaning, safety compliance).
- Sanitize as necessary.
- Pre-Shift Preparation
- Prep pre-shift meeting/report.
- Deliver daily safety tip.
- Recognize best picker (pph/accuracy/scan%).
- Review planned volume and staffing with contingency plans.
- Oversee training plan including new hire orientation and shadow programs.
- Shift Operations/Management
- Enforce safety compliance (equipment use, safety vests, horns, right of way).
- Monitor productivity and quality; provide real-time coaching.
- Ensure training in best practices.
- Promote cleanliness-as-you-go.
- Oversee accident and damage reporting with accountability.
- Operations Wrap-Up
- Conduct end-of-shift walkthroughs.
- Sanitize operational zones.
- Document maintenance issues.
- Ensure PIT inspections are signed and dated.
- Verify equipment is parked and charging.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Post-sort reporting: safety results, downtime/on-time %, actual volume, staffing, hours, callouts, trainee results, QIP focus/targets, concerns, inventory, and facility issues.
- Daily Ops Reporting: safety, employee count, production, scanning, mispicks, shorts, misloads, damages, pallets per truck, trainee updates, day support needs, bulkhead condition.
- Support for Dispatch
- Adjust loads and trucks as required.
- Provide pre-shift plan including safety tips, performance review, projections, staffing, and QIP focus.
- Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
- Identify areas needing focus in production, scanning, quality, and on-time performance.
- Develop and implement action plans.
- Review in weekly Ops meetings.

Qualifications:Qualifications:
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in logistics, supply chain, or business management preferred.
- 3-5 years of warehouse or food distribution experience, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced environments (e.g., e-commerce, retail distribution, or 3PL).
- Proven background managing frozen, and dry goods in a multi-temperature environment.
- Experience with HACCP, FDA & USDA food safety compliance standards
Technical & Operational Skills
- Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning technology.
- Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, picking, packing, inventory control, and material handling processes of perishable goods.
- Familiar with OSHA safety standards, forklift certification (preferred), and safe equipment operation.
- Familiar with temperature control protocols, and trailer/truck loading for mixed temp freight.
- Able to interpret and apply productivity metrics and KPIs.
- Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate night-shift teams to achieve operational goals in a cold storage and food handling environment.
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills across diverse teams.
- Skilled in training, coaching, and developing employees for cross-functional performance.
- Dependable, calm under pressure, and capable of maintaining morale during off-peak hours.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and spend extended periods standing or walking.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, time-management skills and commitment to food quality and safety standards.
