What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager position at Jules Madison Inc?
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team! Jules Madison is looking for a detailed/independent individual who has interest in project management in civil construction utilities and data center construction. This would be a position that would report to a job site in Lisle, IL and on occasion require travel to our office in Monee, IL.
Position: Assistant Project Manager
Reports to: Project Manager
Supervises: Subcontractors and Jules Madison Crews on Projects
Responsibilities:
Subcontractor Management
- Ensure paperwork is executed & in place
- Ensure pricing is received and approved
- Verify accuracy of time and material subcontractor’s invoices by proper tracking
- Track subcontractor production and time/equipment for invoice reconciliation
Client Management
- Communicate professionally with the clients’ representatives
- Budget management, forecasting, and tracking
- PO tracking
- Invoicing per job requirements
Quality Management
- Onsite field verification that work is being done per specifications & drawings
- Picture documentation as needed via company supplied iPad
General Management
- Tight schedules and managing the increase in labor numbers to meet those
- Develops schedule and maintains updates throughout the duration of the project.
- Identifies and secures necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.
- Prepares and submits all contract documentation.
- Review bid instructions, blueprints, specifications, and related job documents
- Review all project documentation.
- Request and evaluate sub bids.
- Participate in scheduling meetings and maintain projects on track and under budget.
- Maintain relationships with key vendors, subs and clients.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and be a problem solver that can provide dynamic solutions.
- Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
Qualifications:
- Degree in civil engineering, construction management or relevant field preferred but not required
- Detail Oriented and Strong Communication Skills
- Interest in the underground civil utility industry
- Interest in the electrical field and data center field as a whole
- Proficient using MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PPT
- Valid Drivers License with Clean Driving Record
