Judkins Insurance is looking for the right individual to join our team as a Personal Lines Insurance Advisor at our office in Martinsville, VA (right beside the DMV). This is a full time, onsite position.

What the Personal Lines Advisor Will Do
The Personal Lines Insurance Advisor will work with individuals and families to understand their unique situations, recommend appropriate coverage, issue policies, and provide ongoing support throughout the life of their account. They will work with new prospects, take exceptional care of existing clients, and help ensure every client receives knowledgeable, personalized guidance.
Success in this role looks like building a strong book of business over time while providing excellent service to existing clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with new and existing clients through phone, email, and in-person conversations.
- Learn about each client's situation and identify their insurance needs.
- Qualify prospects, prepare quotes, compare coverage options, and make thoughtful recommendations.
- Present insurance proposals clearly and guide clients through the decision-making process.
- Follow up with prospects and ask for the opportunity to earn their business.
- Issue policies and confirm all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Review policy renewals to ensure clients continue to have coverage that fits their needs.
- Assist clients with policy changes, billing, claims, and questions.
- Provide backup support to the Office Administrator when needed.
- Continue learning about insurance products, regulations, and industry changes.
Requirements
- MUST obtain and maintain Virginia and North Carolina insurance licenses (Property & Casualty and Life, Health & Annuities). We will assist with the licensing process.
- MUST have strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems and guidelines
- MUST communicate clearly with both our team and clients/prospects.
Additional Skills
Previous sales experience is helpful but not required. We’re looking for someone who is energized by talking with people, communicates clearly, asks thoughtful questions, and enjoys helping others make informed decisions.

Hours
Standard hours are 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday (with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break), averaging 35-40 hours per week.
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay starts at $15/hour plus commission. Base pay increases as your book of business grows. Additional compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
Benefits include access to health insurance (with employer contribution), 80 hrs PTO, paid holidays, access to voluntary benefits, paid licensing and continuing education.
