Workday OPAL Product Director

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Salary: $80.00 USD Hourly - $85.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Workday OPAL Product Director
This position is fully onsite in Philadelphia, PA - MUST be able to make this commute 5 days a week.
This is a 6 month, W2 contract with potential for extensions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Workday product roadmap aligned with organizational strategy.
• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team (functional experts, analysts, system admins).
• Serve as primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Oversee project delivery (implementations, upgrades, configurations) on time and within budget.
• Drive continuous improvement, system optimization, and adoption of new Workday features.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and security requirements.
• Act as SME for Workday, direct training, and support for end users.
• Regularly communicate status and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• In-depth knowledge of Workday Finance, Purchasing, and related modules (configuration, deployment, support).
• Strong understanding of public sector finance/purchasing processes and compliance.
• Proven leadership of large, cross-functional teams (preferably in government/municipal settings).
• Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; data-driven decision-making.
• Experience with Workday Studio, Integration, Reporting, and other technical components.
• Demonstrated success in Workday product strategy and large-scale implementations.

Highly Desired / Preferred

• Experience with other ERP solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Customer-centric mindset; adaptability to changing business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, IT, Finance, or related field (advanced degrees/certifications like MBA or Workday Certification preferred).
• 10 years in financial systems management, including system configuration/integration/optimization.
• 5 years in a leadership role managing large teams, ideally in a public sector environment.
• Knowledge of data privacy laws/regulations for public sector operations.
