What are the responsibilities and job description for the Thermal Engineer position at Judge Direct Placement?
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Thermal Engineer to join its engineering team focused on the design and optimization of air-cooled steam condensers (ACC) and air-cooled heat exchangers (ACHE). This role involves performing thermal analyses, supporting product development, and ensuring the efficiency and reliability of heat transfer systems used in power generation and industrial applications.
The client is looking for someone (lower level or mid-level) who has any relevant experience in the energy sector, specifically someone who has worked on ACHC’s, steam condensers, piping, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thermal performance simulations and heat transfer calculations for dry cooling systems.
- Develop and validate thermal models using CFD and other engineering tools.
- Collaborate with mechanical and structural engineers to integrate thermal requirements into product designs.
- Analyze field performance data and recommend design improvements.
- Support R&D initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports for internal and client use.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, API, and other industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in thermal engineering, preferably in power generation or HVAC industries.
- Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL), heat exchanger design tools, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Salary : $130,000 - $135,000
