Summary
Our client is seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support operations in Statesville, NC. This role is responsible for driving process improvements, enhancing product quality, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives in a dynamic, resin-based production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial or mechanical engineering, with experience in polymer or composite manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process Optimization: Analyze and improve resin molding, curing, and finishing processes to enhance throughput, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead Kaizen events and apply lean tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, etc.) to eliminate inefficiencies.
- Technical Support: Provide engineering support to production teams, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA to investigate defects, implement root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, PFMEA), and drive corrective actions.
- Project Management: Lead capital improvement projects, including equipment upgrades and layout changes, from concept through implementation.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation to ensure compliance and repeatability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, Maintenance, and Operations to support new product introductions and process scale-up.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in resin, plastics, or composites.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process control, and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing metrics (OEE, scrap rate, cycle time).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with thermoset or thermoplastic resin systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and environmental compliance standards.
- Six Sigma certification or formal lean training is a plus.
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
