Judge Direct Placement is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Syracuse, NY area! They will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the company's equipment and facilities by effectively managing a team of multi-craft technicians, planners, and administration personnel in the implementation and execution of maintenance programs and strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a plant maintenance team—including planners, parts room coordinators, and multi‑craft technicians—in planning and executing machine and system maintenance activities.
- Create and implement maintenance strategies for equipment, process systems, and facilities to improve uptime and reduce overall maintenance costs.
- Partner with plant leadership and operations teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize maintenance needs.
- Perform root cause analyses and failure mode investigations to resolve equipment and production system reliability issues.
- Work with Maintenance and Engineering Management to develop, update, and optimize preventive maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Establish and maintain accurate reliability metrics to monitor performance, track improvements, and ensure long‑term sustainability.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians to support rapid resolution of downtime events and reliability concerns.
- Design and deliver training programs, skill‑progression paths, and development curriculum for maintenance technicians.
- Build and oversee a comprehensive maintenance program aligned with business needs and focused on maximizing equipment performance.
- Enhance existing PM/PdM programs to increase equipment uptime and minimize unplanned outages.
- Use CMMS and data‑analysis tools to support maintenance planning and ensure accurate documentation of equipment performance and maintenance history.
- Supervise maintenance personnel to ensure timely, high‑quality completion of work.
- Develop and manage maintenance and MRO budgets, including planning, inventory strategy, and scheduling of maintenance activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and foster a strong safety culture within the maintenance team.
- Identify and manage requirements for spare parts, supplies, and materials inventory.
- Enforce OSHA safety standards by providing training on proper and safe operating procedures.
- Contribute to the creation of manuals, instructions, and training materials; train staff on new procedures and methods.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed, including those occurring outside normal working hours.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Reliability Engineering, a related field
- 10 years of equivalent maintenance management experience in an automated industrial setting.
- 5 years experience with industrial controls programming and/or troubleshooting (Allen Bradley/Rockwell preferred)
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
