About the Role: We are seeking a proactive Temporary Legal Assistant to join our team for an approximate 5 month period. This is a fast-paced role designed to support our attorney with a high volume of casework and administrative tasks in office.
What You’ll Do:
- Immediate Case Support: Step in to manage active attorney calendars, court deadlines, and meeting schedules.
- Document Processing: Draft, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents.
- Electronic Filing: Handle high-volume e-filing.
- File Organization: Update digital and physical case files to ensure everything is current and indexed.
- Communication: Act as a temporary point of contact for clients, process servers, and opposing counsel.
- Project Assistance: Assist with specific upcoming projects, such as trial preparation, document production, or closing binders.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience in a law firm environment.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Outlook).
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn our firm’s specific filing systems and internal processes.
- Reliability: Strong commitment to the full duration of the assignment.
- Efficiency: Excellent multi-tasking skills with a focus on accuracy under tight deadlines.
