Job Summary:
Reporting the DSVP of Human Resources, the Contract Human Resources Manager will Co-lead various functions within the Human Resources department including but not limited to recruitment and onboarding, training & development, benefits administration, employee and labor relations, employee and community engagement, safety, and leave administration. This role will also ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and as well as compliance with the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. This role will work directly with Corporate and Operations Leadership and is expected to represent and be committed to our Company values: integrity, ownership collaboration and respect. This is a full-time, temporary role.
Essential Functions:
- Leads efforts to attract and retain the best talent.
- Establishes best practices for selection, recruitment, and approvals per budget.
- Works with hiring managers to build job descriptions based around our mission, vision, values and business objectives, and core competencies.
- Champions Best in Class onboarding procedures.
- Partners with plant leadership and EHS Consultant on safety, risk, good manufacturing practices.
- Ensures compliance with EEO and other non-discrimination laws and regulations.
- Researches and manages special projects as assigned.
- Collaborates with VP of HR on all employee and community engagement initiatives and events.
- Collaborates with VP of HR and department heads on succession planning, training and development initiatives
- Prepares periodic reports for management and performs other duties as assigned.
- Conducts regular follow-up with Hiring Managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
- Manages HR initiatives, systems, and tactics.
- Manages the leave of absence process (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, etc.)
- Monitors adherence to policies and legal standards and administers corrective action as appropriate.
- Drives safety and prevention initiatives.
- Investigates and resolves employee and labor relations matters.
- Acts as liaison between the union and Company management.
- Anticipates and resolves litigation risks.
- Analyzes data using HR and EHS metrics.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Human Resource Management or Business Administration
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources required.
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role required.
· HR Certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred
· Experience in a union environment required.
· Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
· Leave management and administration experience (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.)
· Excellent computer skills/literacy, with expertise in the Microsoft Office
· Service-oriented; provides excellent customer service in person, via email, and by telephone.
· Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team.
· Ability to exercise care and discretion with confidential/sensitive information.
· Proficient research and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.

Physical Requirements:
- This role requires regular presence in both office and plant environments.
· Frequent walking and standing on the production floor, warehouse, and other operational areas.
· Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and food manufacturing conditions.
· Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or participating in meetings.
· Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in production areas.
· Willingness and ability to work weekends, holidays, or outside of regular business hours as business demands require.
· Must maintain mental alertness, focus, and cognitive ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively throughout the workday.
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
