Schedule: Onsite | Monday–Friday

Compensation: $71,000–$75,000 base salary

Our client, a rapidly growing security services organization with over 5,000 employees nationwide, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join their team onsite in Gardena, CA. This is a high-impact role supporting a fast-paced, high-volume workforce environment where strong employee relations expertise, business partnership, and California employment law knowledge are essential.

The ideal candidate is a strategic HR professional who can confidently coach people managers, guide leadership through complex employee relations matters, and ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws across multiple states, with California as the core focus.

Position Overview

The HRBP will serve as a trusted advisor to operations leadership within an assigned region or territory. This role will partner closely with managers to support workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, investigations, and compliance initiatives while helping drive business objectives through effective people strategies.

This position will also oversee and support two HR Coordinators/Clerks responsible for administrative HR functions and employee inquiries within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with operational leaders and people managers to provide strategic HR guidance and support
  • Coach managers on employee relations issues, performance management, corrective action, investigations, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with a strong emphasis on California labor law
  • Review, approve, or reject employee terminations and disciplinary actions to ensure legal compliance and consistency
  • Support leadership in workforce planning, retention strategies, and organizational effectiveness
  • Manage high-volume employee relations matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation and risk mitigation
  • Assist with HR initiatives, process improvements, and business strategy discussions within assigned territory
  • Supervise and support two HR Coordinators/Clerks handling administrative tasks and employee inquiries
  • Partner with leadership to maintain a positive and compliant workplace culture
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with payroll, recruiting, operations, and compliance teams
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR Generalist or HRBP experience
  • Strong multi-state employment law knowledge required
  • Extensive California employment law experience is required
  • Experience supporting large employee populations in high-volume environments
  • Prior experience in security, logistics, staffing, manufacturing, transportation, or similarly fast-paced industries is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence frontline and mid-level managers
  • Experience handling employee investigations, corrective actions, and termination decisions
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work with urgency

  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly in a high-volume environment
